Seize the opportunity to see a rare London revival of Pacific Overtures, one of Stephen Sondheim’s least frequently performed but exquisitely formed musical at the intimate Menier Chocolate Factory. Book Pacific Overtures tickets today.
Set in the floating kingdom of Nippon in Japan, closed to the rest of the world for the past 250 years, Pacific Overtures sees a fleet of American warships arrive with their western ways and tells the story of what happened next from the Japanese perspective.
This epic and beautifully designed production, originally staged to great acclaim in Tokyo, completes a trio of stagings of the collaborations between Sondheim and John Weidman, following celebrated productions of Assassins and Road Show. Combining eastern and western musical influences, songs include "Pretty Lady," "Bowler Hat," and Sondheim’s personal favourite, "Someone in a Tree."
Don’t miss out on the chance to book tickets on Box Office for this rare gem.
