About Rose

One of Britain's finest actresses, Maureen Lipman, stars in Rose, a one-woman memory play about the resilience of the human spirit in testing times. Witness an acting masterclass and book Rose tickets on Box Office.

Meet Rose. She doesn't believe in a happy future. But she's a survivor. The Jewish woman dealt with tough situations throughout her life: her turbulent childhood in Nazi-occupied Europe, sailing on The Exodus, and her “American Dream” continue to haunt her. Throughout the one-act play, Rose shares how her history, memories, and heritage affected her life, and how they still guide her decision-making today.

Martin Sherman's powerful drama blends the personal and the political, resulting in a deeply moving work filled with human sensitivity. The Spectator raved about Rose in London saying "One hesitates to call a work a ‘masterpiece’ but this production aims for and fulfils that ambition."

The multi-award-winning actress Maureen Lipman lends her talent to this searing drama, playing 28 performances at the Ambassadors Theatre. Rose is a stark reminder of the enduring power of hope, love, and the human spirit, even when times get tough. Look forward to a magnificent theatre performance in bloom with Rose tickets.
