Few could forget the classic improvisational panel show Whose Line Is It Anyway? the hit Channel 4 series that ran from 1988 to 1999 (before moving to the United States for an equally successful American spin-off). With Clive Anderson presented, it saw a range of comedians create imaginative and hilarious scenarios with few prompts and it entertained a large audience for over a decade.
And now it is back! Clive Anderson returns to the presenter’s chair to host a show featuring Colin Mochrie, Greg Proops, Brad Sherwood and Josie Lawrence (plus Jeff Davis) live onstage at the London Palladium, following up last year’s run at the Adelphi.
The live production will do everything that the television managed but on a West End stage and considering the longevity of the original television version this is likely to attract a big crowd when it opens in June.
Greg Proops appears onstage and he is amongst the recognisable faces that will make this a must-see. He appeared in both versions of Whose Line Is It Anyway? when it appeared either side of the Pond and has also made a career on the big screen with numerous film and television roles.
And with Whose Line Is It Anyway?...Live, he is also boosted by the original creators of the show Dan Patterson and Mark Leveson, who are the driving force behind this high profile return.
Offering comedy in the capital (alongside this year’s appearances from the likes of David Baddiel), Whose Line Is It Anyway?...Live runs at the London Palladium from Friday 10th June 2016.
