Regularly considered as one of the best comedians working in the United Kingdom, Stewart Lee returns to the Leicester Square Theatre for his latest show A Room With A Stew, an unmissable evening for fans of the influential performer. He will be taking to the stage to test out material for his BBC 2 television series Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle, which will be filming its fourth season soon, and so those wishing to hear some of this material before it heads to our screens will be in for a treat.
Lee has been a comic force for more than two decades, regularly taking to the stage here at the Leicester Square Theatre and at The Stand Comedy Club in Edinburgh as part of the city’s regularly Festival Fringe. In addition to the series Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle, he has also found success as one half of Lee & Herring with comedian Richard Herring and also had a controversial hit with the musical Jerry Springer The Opera.
Stewart Lee’s A Room With A Stew is described as a series of half hour routines (reflecting their eventual performance on television), with three half hour sets per evening. It appears in the capital in a year when stand-out comedy can be seen across the capital, with other examples including Bill Bailey: Limboland at the Vaudeville Theatre from December.
Stewart Lee appears in A Room With A Stew from Monday 21st September 2015.
