The Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre welcomes another stand-out work of Shakespeare in 2018 as Max Webster directs As You Like It, with new music put together by Noah And The Whale’s Charlie Fink.
The 1599 play introduces audiences to characters like Rosalind, Celia, Phoebe and Jaques, the former two being cousins fleeing to the Forest of Arden and the latter two some of the many colourful characters that they encounter there. The comedic piece has fans all over the world, who have relished in its stagings since the 16th century.
So its return to the stage is more than welcome and it boasts a director in the talented Max Webster, who has been a regular voice in the country’s theatre scene for many years. His credits include Old Vic shows like 2018’s Fanny & Alexander, as well as previous shows like Cover My Tracks (also working with Charlie Fink) and The Lorax.
And the show heads to the Open Air Theatre in a year that sees the seasonal venue present many stand-out shows, from the reimagined Peter Pan to the cult classic musical Little Shop of Horrors. So 2018 is a great year to head to Regent’s Park and witness some iconic shows in the open air of summer.
As You Like It runs at the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre from Tuesday 14th August 2018.
