The story of Don Quixote, a prisoner turned Spanish knight has been performed lots in recent months in the West End. From the Royal Shakespeare Company’s most recent adaptation of Don Quixote, the West End is now treated to a revival of Man of La Mancha at the London Coliseum. On for a limited engagement of six weeks, you’ll want to book your tickets now to see Kelsey Grammer perform live in front of you, as you watch a story that’s arguably regarded to be told in the first modern novel. So, if you enjoy literature and opera, Man of La Mancha is a show right up your street.
At first, we meet Miguel de Cervantes who has been chucked into a dungeon due to his views during the Spanish Inquisition. However, he doesn’t remain Miguel de Cervantes for very long. Taking out an outfit from his trunk, he transforms into Alonso Quijano, a man who dreams of serving his country. Travelling across Spain with his sidekick Sancho Panza, the show is full of rousing ballads, none more known than “The Impossible Dream”.
Retelling the legend of Don Quixote will be led by previously mentioned Kelsey Grammer, performing opposite Danielle de Niese in a glittering production that is sure to capture the hearts of all attendees. With unbeatable musical numbers set in the grandeur of the London Coliseum, don’t miss out on your chance to see this stellar production before the final curtain call.
The two leads are sure to draw in audiences. Kelsey Grammer is best known for starring in Frasier and has tread the board in theatres across Broadway and the West End.
Danielle de Niese has performed in operas around the world from Australia to the United States.
Nicholas Lyndhurst and Cassidy Janson will also star in the production.
The book Don Quixote was published in 1605.
